Scotland won against Namibia by 5 runs with 9 balls left


Scotland win their first game against Namibia by 5 runs with balls remaining on the on-going icc t20 world cup which is played between Namibia and Scotland at Kensington Oval Barbados Stadium.

The target of 158 runs given by Namibia to Scotland is completed by Scotland in 18.3 overs by losing 5 wickets. For Scotland victory, batsman Captain Richie Berrington and Michael Leask played a contribution role for team to make the team win. Richie scored 47 runs in 35 balls including 2 fours and 2 sixes and Michael scored 35 runs in 17 balls with the help of 4 sixes. Another batsman Michael Jones and Brandon McMullen scored 26 and 19 runs respectively. With the great contribution of Richie and Michael Scotland can complete this target easily in the 18.2 overs where Richie remains notout.

Namibia bowlers did their best but couldn't make team to win this game. Bowlers Ruben Trumpelmann, Tangeni Lungameni and Bernard Scottlz all three take one wickets for each. While, Captain of Namibia Gerhard Erasmus take two wickets by giving 29 runs in his 4 over spell.

In the first innings, Namibia can only make 155 runs by losing 9 wickets in the 20 over. For Namibia, Opener Jean-Pierre Kotze goes for a duck. While, another opener scored 20 runs in 12 balls including 4 boundaries. Captain Gerhard Erasmus played a brilliant knock of 52 runs in 31 balls including 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. Meanwhile, Jan Frylinck, Zane Green and David Wiese 12 runs, 28 runs and 14 runs respectively. Due to the lack of support from other batsman for Erasmus, Namibia cannot make total that they can defend.

From Scotland bowling side, Bowlers Brad Wheal and Bradley Currie take 3 wickets and 2 wickets by conceding 33 runs and 16 runs respectively. While, Chris Sole, Chris Greaves and Michael Leask all take one wickets for team that they can win.

Michael Leask became Player of the Match(POM) due to his outstanding bowling and batting performance as he scored 35 runs in just 17 deliveries from bat and take 1 crucial wickets conceding 16 runs in 2 overs.
